The time of repotting is also the best time to propagate the plant from the rhizomes. Once the venus flytrap is so large that several items are recognizable, you can divide it.
To do this, remove the plant from the old pot and gently pry it apart with your hands. At each section sufficient leaves and a few roots must remain.
