When does the flower flower?
Like other buttercups, the flower of Troll flowers in bright yellow. However, their spherical flower is usually closed. Some breeding forms, however, have more or less open flowers and surprise the viewer with different shades such as orange.
While the wild form blooms only relatively short time in May and June, breeders have been able to extend the flowering period of some varieties until August. Not only the viewer but also many bees are looking forward to it. For these are the Trollblumen a rich source of food. Unfortunately, the troll flower has become rare, so it is also under conservation. It prefers a moist half shady location.
