Thuja Brabant is one of the most popular varieties
Thuja is available in numerous varieties - a small overview
Thuja or tree of life exists in numerous varieties in the garden trade. Not every species is suitable for every purpose. For an opaque hedge, there are just as suitable varieties as for care in the tub or as a form of shrub. A small overview of known Thuja species.
How many Thuja species are there?
How many Thuja species actually exist is hardly manageable. New varieties keep adding new varieties.
A number of Lebensbaum varieties are very commonly grown, such as Brabant and Emerald.
When choosing, the gardener should consider that not every species is suitable for any purpose. While some varieties are very fast growing and soon form an opaque hedge, other species are more suitable for care than single tree or formwood.

Especially fast-growing species
The particularly fast-growing varieties include Thuja Brabant, Thuja plica Martin and Thuja plica Aurescens. They differ in the color of the foliage.
If you are unsure about the right variety of Thuja, ask for advice from a specialist and look for the conversation with the garden neighbors.
Tree of life in a bucket or as a form of wood
Some varieties of the tree of life grow very slowly or have certain demands on the soil. If you want to cultivate a tree of life in the tub or as a woody shrub, you should resort to small, slow-growing species.
Small-sized varieties such as Danika or Tiny Tim naturally grow in spherical form. They develop virtually no outstanding shoots and therefore need little or no cutting.
Accelerate growth
The growth of different species can only accelerate little. When planting as a hedge or solitary, you should treat the tree of life to a favorable location in the sun or partial shade.
Be careful not to over-thru or over-pour thuja, and do not over-fertilize the tree of life.
Tips
Although Thuja emerald is often offered as a hedge plant and planted, it is not the ideal choice for a hedge. It has to be set in a larger planting distance and grows comparatively slowly.
