When it comes to the garden pond, the question arises again and again, whether each pond actually has to necessarily have a pond filter. Whether this is really necessary, and what benefits a pond filter can have, you will find in our article.
Need for a pond filter
Pond filters provide clear water. But this is not absolutely necessary for every garden pond. Normally, a pond regulates itself by the microorganisms contained therein and thus prevents a "tip over" - that is a complete Veralgen.
The plankton and small aquatic creatures ensure that the water remains clear and all organic matter is decomposed. A pond filter would also remove the plankton and aquatic creatures here and thus rather harm the water quality than use it.

It is important to plan the size of the pond according to the amount of fish and according to the type of fish you want to use. The depth of the pond must be greater in this case: at least 1 m depth are required for fish to be used.
