The perfect location for the padded phlox
As a lush flowering ground cover the Polsterphlox in the garden usually requires little care. The prerequisite for this, however, is the thoughtful selection of a suitable site for planting.
This plant loves the sun
So that the Polsterphlox can form lush plant patches with numerous blooms, it should be planted in the spring (if necessary also between spring and autumn) to a sunny possible position in the garden. Half-sun locations are also tolerated, but usually ensure during flowering for a slightly less pronounced flowering in Polsterphlox. The ideal floor for the upholstered phlox does not have to be particularly nutrient-rich, but permeable and mineral. To prevent waterlogging in normal garden soil, you can incorporate some sand or fine gravel into the soil before planting.
Tips
Since the Polsterphlox proliferates under favorable conditions relatively quickly and vigorously, a planting at a distance of about 20 to 30 cm sufficient to still quickly get a continuous plant carpet.
