Is reed under nature conservation?
Reeds can be seen in many parts of the country and on meadows. It is widely distributed around the world and its population is stable. Therefore it is not protected. But sometimes one of his namesake already!
Reeds are not the same as reeds
Reeds basically refer to three different plant species:
Neither miscanthus nor reed are under nature conservation. They can be cut and dug up on public meadows or on the banks of the lake or the river. The beautiful fronds make a good figure as a dry arrangement or in bouquets.
Cattails, however, may well be protected in some areas.
What does it mean when a plant is under conservation?
If a plant is protected, this means above all that it can not be picked, pruned or otherwise altered in the wild. But if the plant grows on your private property, you can do whatever you want with it.
If cattails grow in your garden, you can confidently prune them, use their pretty butts for arrangements or even tear out the entire plant.
