The two seasons of the parsnip harvest
When sowing parsnips, the first step is to decide whether the tasty and healthy roots of the plant should be harvested after a sowing in early spring in September. If you prefer to store parsnip roots for the winter, you can opt for a sowing in June and a harvest of parsnips throughout the winter.
Harvest fresh parsnips throughout the winter
Parsnips can remain directly in the soil during a late cultivation with June sowing in the fall and can be freshly dug up all winter long. No special winter protection is necessary for this.
Tips & Tricks
With lots of iron, potassium, folic acid and vitamin C, parsnips are perfectly suited for healthy and warming soups in the winter season.
