The passion flower, which is popular as an ornamental plant, has already surprised many a plant friend, because many species of the encompassed genus can become very tall - and also need support in growing. Passiflora are perennial, herbaceous climbers that rose up on a trellis, a wall or the like.
Suitable trellis aids for passion flowers
If you are looking for a suitable Passiflora for the room culture, then pay attention to the vigor of the selected species: Some species of passion flower can reach heights between six to ten meters. Others remain much smaller. A round arch as a climbing aid is very well suited for houseplants, as it gives the plant space saving the opportunity to grow. In contrast, outdoor passion flowers can rise up against a metal grid or a tall wooden frame, although heights of three meters or more are not uncommon.

At first, passion flowers grow rather reserved, but then seem to explode. However, if your Passiflora gets too big, you can easily cut it back.
