How to sow poppy seeds?
Poppy seeds are easy to sow and germinate easily. It should not be too warm and / or too wet during the germination time. If the seed capsules on the plant mature, then your poppy will even sow itself.

Sow poppy properly
Poppy gets long taproots and can therefore be bad pikieren. For this reason, you should sow it directly to the desired location. If that is not possible then sow in pots. Only plant the seedlings when they have become vigorous young plants. Then put the root ball from the pots completely in the ground, even if several small plants grow in it.
Sprinkle fine seeds of poppy on the prepared bed. To make this easier, you can mix the seeds with a little sand. After sowing, cover the seeds with a little earth, which they are light germ. During the germination period, which lasts about 10 to 20 days, the seeds should always be slightly moist, but not wet.
