The lily of the valley lives up to its name. Its main flowering time is the merry month of May. This can be read from the botanical name of the plant Convallaria majalis. While the first word refers to the preferred location, valley, majalis stands for "in May".

The flowering season of the lily of the valley, however, may begin in April, depending on the weather, when the winter was very mild. After a harsh winter, it takes longer for the plant to flower.

If the month of May stays cool and wet, the flowering of lily-of-the-valley continues until the beginning of June.

Pick lilies of the valley during flowering

Many people love to put a bunch of lilies in the room. It should be noted that in some countries and regions lilies of the valley are protected and can not be picked in the wild.
