Privet likes it brightly. Direct shadows are not necessarily suitable, because the shrub does not grow well here and has few foliage.
It is important that the soil is well permeable to water because privet does not cope with waterlogging. If necessary, drain before planting.
Since most varieties of the leaflet are hardy, the shrub does not need a particularly sheltered location. Only younger plants should not be exposed to strong winter sun in winter.
Tips
You can cultivate privet as a hedge, single shrub and in a bucket. Because of its good cut compatibility, it is also often considered a bonsai.
