Only a few trees grow as fast as Leyland cypresses. They add between 50 and 100 centimeters in height and width each year.
The right location
In a sunny spot, a Leyland cypress hedge thrives best. But it also grows well in partially shaded places.
The soil must be slightly acidic and nice and easy. For heavy soils you should definitely create a drainage, as waterlogging is not tolerated at all.
The location should be protected a bit. In unprotected locations, there is a risk of the plants suffering frost damage at very low minus temperatures.

The ideal time for planting is in August or September. Lift a trench that is about 50 centimeters wide. The depth should be about twice the root ball. The trees can not be set lower than they have been in the pot.
