Pond foil for the stream - does that make sense?
A small pond can significantly enhance a garden, even more a small stream running through the garden. How to line the stream with foil, and which foils are suitable, read in our article.
Create streams
Basically, it's not much harder to build a stream than building a pond. There are only a few more things to keep in mind about the Bach:
To seal the creek bed, you then have several options:
concrete bed
Casting a concrete bed is expensive, but a very good option. You have to dig the trench a bit deeper to be able to concretise. The advantage here is above all in the long durability and robustness.
Remember, however, that you will not be able to correct the run later (for example, if you want to rebuild something in the garden).
Stream shells
These trays are usually either made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) or stainless steel (rare). Their advantage is that they are very easy to process and are often offered as complete sets. This allows you to realize your stream with much less effort than with other elements, in addition you do not have to worry about capillaries or sealing measures.
The disadvantage here, however, is the high price. Often already cost "small" complete sets for a distance of only 1.50 meters to the 150 EUR, individual elements in lengths of 50 - 60 cm to supplement often cost just as much. The durability is very good, and the elements are also environmentally neutral and biological.
pond liner
Pond liner is the cheapest and most flexible form of creek lining. However, you often have to install additional stabilizing elements so that the pond liner does not slip. In this case you have to pay a lot of attention to the capillary barrier. It is best to place a small, gravel ditch to the left and right of the shore, which runs parallel to the pond.
As protection offers a stone foil to cover the pond liner. This protects the seal even more and offers a more natural look than laid pond liner.
Tips
If you create a stream with pond liner, you certainly have the greatest effort, but the least cost. You are also more flexible than with other methods, if you later want to change the course.
