Ripe kiwis for your dog
Kiwis say: what is healthy for a human can not be harmful to their four-legged friend! The vitamin C contained in the kiwifruit strengthens the immune system and the protein-cleaving enzyme actinidin has a digestive effect.
It is known that kiwi contains three times as much vitamin C as lemon, which makes the kiwi a very healthy fruit. However, the increased acidity may be detrimental in dogs with stomach problems. Therefore, the dogs should preferably get overripe fruits with higher sugar content.
The enzyme actinidin contained in the kiwis, which splits animal protein, helps to digest meat meals. If there is no intolerance to the enzyme, kiwis can be easily consumed by dogs. Like every fruit, the kiwis should be given in small quantities.
