Small and big cherry trees
Large cherry trees live longer, but also take longer to reach full yield. Smaller trees soon bring full yields, have many benefits in terms of care, but are not that old.
Big cherry trees

High trunks have a minimum trunk height of approx. 180 cm. The sweet cherry trees can grow up to 20 meters and the sour cherry trees up to 7-8 meters high. Responsible for the growth are the high-growing documents, on which the Hochstämme are refined.

Half-stems are not only half as tall as the tall ones. They have a trunk height of at least 120 cm. In the adult state, the half-trunks reach a similar height as the high trunks. The difference to the high stem is that the crown base is lower. The records of the half-stems are medium to weak.
Small cherry trees

The bush trees have the trunk height to the crown approach of about 60 cm. They grow less upright, rather shrubby, can be trained well to spindles and reach the height of about 3-4 m. The bushes are grafted on weak growth and do not take up so much space.
columnar trees
The cherry trees are especially suitable for small gardens or terraced plants.The height of 3 m is rarely exceeded in these trees. The column cages are usually refined to the GiSelA documents, which are characterized by a particularly low growth.
Tips & Tricks
Very large and old sweet cherry trees have such a spreading crown that it is not possible to completely protect them with net from birds. One should therefore leave a part of the harvest to our feathered friends. A full-yielded sweet cherry tree provides so many fruits that they are sufficient for humans and animals.
