Why frost is important for the hyacinth bloom
Hyacinths enchant garden and apartment with their fragrance. The tubers of the hyacinth are frost hardy and tolerate low minus temperatures. Without a break with low temperatures, the tubers would not drive out every year. If the tubers do not get frost, no flowers show up.

Frost is not only harmless to the hyacinth, without tuberculosis the tubers do not sprout the following spring.
Gardeners call this process "stratify". It prevents the bulbs from sprouting in autumn and freezes the aerial parts of the plant in winter. Stratification only occurs when the ambient temperatures rise again and the leaves and flowers are no longer at risk.
Outdoor hyacinths do not need to be stratified

Simulate the cold period
