Successfully multiplying dogrose - step by step
In contrast to hybrid roses, wild roses (which include the various types of dog rose) can be reproduced in the correct manner. There are various options available to you, whereby in particular the foothills forming varieties can be easily duplicated.

Many species of roses form, depending on the species more or less pronounced, foothills, which can sometimes spread over several meters in the garden and also root very quickly. Especially the common hedge-rose or dog-rose (Rosa canina) proliferates itself by numerous root shoots, as well as by the way like the popular potato rose (Rosa rugosa). Thanks to this, the propagation can be done very easily:

Multiplication by Steckhölzer
In contrast to the only semi-mature cuttings are in plywood to strong, woody and annual shoots. These are cut in the late autumn before the first frost and kept frost-free but cold until they are plugged in the following spring at high humidity. For this purpose, pack the sticks best in damp sand and store them in a cool basement or similar.
Duplicate dogrose by cuttings
Cuttings are ideally cut between the end of July and the beginning of August, for which woody, semi-mature shoots are best suited. These should be about 10 to 15 inches long.
Tips
Alternatively, of course, the propagation of self-collected seeds is possible, but you have to bring a lot of patience for this method - it may take up to two years to germination.
