Advantages of the bucket culture in the buckthorn
The Goji berry, also known as the "common buckthorn", was first known as an "import berry" from Asian countries, but is now also growing in Germany. Goji Bereen is experiencing rapid growth under these environmental conditions. Therefore, many hobby gardeners prefer the culture in the pot, as the plants here remain a little more compact and also can not spread uncontrollably with their subterranean rhizomes across the garden. In a bucket, it is much easier to provide a well-drained substrate than in a free-fall bed with loamy soil. Last but not least, the sun-hungry Goji berries in a bucket can simply be placed better in the best possible position towards the sun.
Plant the foundation for a good harvest
Even if freshly increased goji breezes are initially quite small and seem innocent, they can, with good care, after a short time stretch long shoots up to 80 cm in length or more in all directions. Accordingly, the planter for a willow bush should be large enough. The best time for planting and transplanting is the spring, because so before the winter frosts still enough time for rooting remains. As a pot substrate you can mix two parts of ordinary potting soil with a piece of perlite or sand. The pot should have drain holes and not stand on a trivet. At least you should pay due to the waterlogging incompatibility of the goji berry, even in the summer only every few days to pour and their roots are not in the permanent moisture.
