Forsythia or Goldilocks are not unjustly seen as harbingers of spring in the garden. The yellow flowers are among the first in the garden year. Forsythia blooms for many years. If the flower leaves, care mistakes are responsible.

The heyday of forsythia begins in March. In almost all ornamental gardens the yellow flowers of forsythia shine. The flowering time is depending on the weather into May.
In the case of forsythia, the flowers first appear. Only when the flowering time is over, the green leaves grow. That's why the bushes are so bright yellow.
Numerous bell-shaped flowers form on the forsythia branches. You have the ornamental shrub nicknamed Goldilocks entered.
Flowers are not fertilized
Forsythia are hybrids that do not produce fertile flowers. They do not feed bees, butterflies and other insects.
In natural gardens, the shrubs are therefore usually not planted.
When the forsythia does not bloom
If the heyday of forsythia is absent, it is usually the wrong cut.
Flowers develop only on older shoots. If these are removed during pruning in autumn, no flowers can develop.
Forsythia is therefore cut in spring after flowering. Once the flowers turn brown, you should grab the secateurs.
Forsythia flowers are sensitive to frost
If the frost returns, if the forsythia is already blooming, the flowers freeze to death. Unlike the shrub, they are not hardy.
