Protect delicate flowers from frost
The chrysanthemums, which bloom only in the fall, once again ensure colorful splashes of color before the winter finally finds its way into the garden. Often they are among the last flowering plants in the garden. Pot chrysanthemums feel as much at home on a sheltered spot in the garden - on a wall, for example - or on a balcony or terrace. Also, an attitude in the apartment is possible. Caution is advised, however, with early onset of frost, because the flowers of the flowering in November, the perennial are very sensitive to frost. Substrate and planting
For your pot chrysanthemums, use a nutrient-rich, humus-rich potting soil that can lighten up with a little sand. Pay particular attention to a good pot drainage, so that excess irrigation water can drain easily. You can achieve this by filling potsherds, small pebbles, or similar materials as the lowest layer of the pot, two to five centimeters high.
Pouring and fertilizing
The lush flowering chrysanthemums are heavily polluting, so they need lots of water and fertilizer. In the fall, it is sufficient to water abundantly about once or twice a week. The right time for casting is when the top substrate layer in the pot has already dried. Fertilization should be avoided in autumn.
