Pallets can be used to build many different seat variants

A cozy beach chair made of europallets - built by yourself

Who says that a beach chair may only stand on the North Sea and Baltic Sea coast? The attractive beach furniture has long since conquered southern gardens and balconies. Absolutely in the trend and at the same time cost-effective are models that you can easily build yourself from Europallets. This is child's play with our detailed instructions and a little manual skill.

List of materials:

To make the beach chair easier to transport, you can attach four sturdy wheels. The roof can be optionally embellished with awning fabric.

The required tool:

preparation

Especially if you get the pallets directly from a transport company, these often have unsightly signs of wear. Therefore, sand down the wood first and paint it in a shade of your choice. Weatherproof paint ensures that your new garden furniture does not weather.

Assembly instructions for the lower part

First, the lower half of the beach chair is built with the seats. To do this, place two europallets upright at a distance from a European pole. The lathed surface is directed inwards.

The europallets have a central bracing. Right and left of this, connect the two pallets now with 2 boards. Keep an even distance to the middle and outer beams of the pallet.

Another Euro pallet serves as a back wall. Screw them on in the next operation. The boards are now placed on the fourth pallet. This forms the generous seat. Also screw.

If you want to attach wheels to move the beach chair easily, place it on the backrest and fix it at the four corners. It is recommended to use wheels with brakes, such as those used for furniture. So they prevent the unwanted slipping, if you want to sit down. Even in households with children, you should only use braked castors.

The upper part of the beach chair

Now it's time to build the backrest and roof. If you have decided against rolling, for example because the garden furniture is supposed to stand on a soft surface, it is advisable to attach it in such a way that the screw connection can be loosened easily for transport. Screw connections with wing nuts are a good alternative in this case.

Again, two pallets are bolted as a side wall with a Euro pallet, which serves as a back wall. Put at least one more board on it. In this (s) the last Euro pallet is placed and connected with screws, so that the beach chair has a stable roof. Now put both beach chair parts on top of each other and connect.

Alternatively, you can attach the backrest in a comfortable seat angle. To do this, you must chamfer the entire Euro pallet at the bottom so that the desired inclination results.

Make the roof weatherproof

Depending on the individual taste, you can now cover the roof with roofing felt or another material. The covering ensures that you do not get wet even in the rain and that even the padding stays dry in bad weather. Make sure that the roofing felt is nailed with special pins.

It looks very attractive if you beautify the top with awning fabric. You can simply attach this with stainless clips and a stapler. Fold here a hem, because the open cut edges could otherwise fray.

The equipment of the beach chair

To make it really cozy, the beach chair is equipped with soft garden seat covers or many pillows.

Alternatively, you can build the upholstery for the seats yourself. You need:

each in the size of the seat and / or backrest.

The finished upholstered parts can now be screwed from below with the seat and backrest.

Tips

The side walls of the self-built beach chair can be embellished with related screen printing plates. Plant containers for hanging give the garden furniture made of europallets the finishing touches.
