How to prevent yellow leaves of the fan palm
A few yellow or brown leaves gets each fan palm once. This is normal and not an indication of bad care or a wrong location. However, if many fronds turn yellow, you should search for the causes.
Causes of yellow leaves of fan palm
Fan palms need plenty of light throughout the year. Place the palm near the window. If the air is very warm, increase the humidity by placing water bowls.
If the fan palm has not been repotted for a long time, you should put it in fresh substrate after the appearance of many yellow leaves. Make sure that the soil is permeable to water, so that no waterlogging occurs and the palm can absorb the nutrients.
Tips
Yellow or brown leaves are particularly common in winter when the fan palm does not get enough light. If necessary, use plant lamps for more brightness.
