What planting distance should be between ground cover roses?
Groundcovering roses, also referred to as small shrub roses and surface roses, are robust, easy to plant, long-lived and extremely flowering. But which distance between the plants should be considered?
Planting distance depending on the variety
Depending on the variety, the planting distance should be measured. Basically, there are these recommendations from experienced gardeners:
Bushy sorts need each other a distance of at least 40 cm. Flat-bottomed varieties as well. If you plant arch overhanging varieties, the planting distance should be based on the height of the respective rose.
Tips
The larger the distances between the plants, the more care for weeding is necessary later. But the smaller the distances, the more problematic it is to cut the plants. Find the mediocrity!
