How big is a bamboo fargesia?
Depending on the variety, a bamboo fargesia becomes 1.5 m - 6 m high. The individual stems grow only in their first year. After a few years they become quite unsightly and can easily be cut off.
In the following year, new blades are formed, which are getting higher than the blades of the previous year until the bamboo reaches its maximum size. This works only if the bamboo is well nourished and poured. Fargesien do not grow as much as the black bamboo, for they do not form rhizomes but clumps.
