The planting distance of the laurel cherry "Caucasica"
Caucasica is one of the most popular cherry laurel species, as it is particularly fast-growing and forms dense hedges. It differs from other laurel cherries by the deep-dark green, narrow-shaped foliage.

Which planting distance you have to comply with depends on the height of the acquired trees. From about one meter of shrubs, the most commercially available size, you need three pieces per running hedge meter. If you decide on young plants that are only thirty centimeters tall, you need five laurel cherries per meter. The individual plants should by no means be so dense that they hinder each other in their growth.
Since the cherry laurel "Caucasica" can grow about forty centimeters in height and width every year, you should keep a minimum distance to house walls. When planning the hedge, keep in mind that it has to be cut regularly all the way around.
Tips & Tricks
Some larger bushes make an attractive privacy. With cuttings you can simply multiply the cherry laurel so that you can continue the shrub row over time at no extra cost.
