Grow new shoots on the Yucca palm - That's how it works
The yucca or even palm oil - often falsely referred to as the yucca palm - comes from the dry and hot deserts and semi-deserts of Central America. There, in the south of the USA and in Mexico, the unusual plants are at home - and have adapted perfectly to the prevailing conditions. Krümm wache and somehow bald-looking Yuccas usually suffer from wrong site conditions - in order to successfully breed new shoots, you must first of all ensure the right care, temperature and a good location.

Yuccas are strong, fast-growing houseplants with a lush head - and often one or the other side shoot. If the whole plant is weak, the trunk remains rather thin, crooked and if the head is sparsely covered with leaves, this is usually due to a lack of light. Yuccas need a lot of light and should even be outside of a window or outside during the summer months. The plant even tolerates blazing sun, as long as it has been gently used to it - do not forget that it is finally a desert plant. Another possible reason for the rather feeble appearance of the yucca could - in addition to the lack of light - also be missing fertilizer. A yucca needs regular nutrition to grow and thrive.

To stimulate the shaleed yucca to new shoot growth, you can not avoid cutting. At best, you separate the plant's head and make several shoots and stem cuttings from other shoots and from the trunk. Plant them directly into a loose mixture of sand and potting soil, place them in a bright place - preferably directly in front of a south-facing window! - and keep the substrate slightly damp. Within a few months, the cuttings should have rooted themselves and train new shoots. Now it is important to cultivate the young Yuccas species-appropriate, so grow vigorous plants with numerous leaves.
Tips
Many a proud owner of a yucca palm tree was able to breed side shoots on his plant simply by scratching the trunk with a sharp knife. In many cases, this method works, but not always.
