Sow wildflowers and make flower-rich meadows
Wildflowers provide insects with a valuable food source. At the right location, the area develops into a species-rich habitat. Before sowing, you must prepare the soil so that the seed germinates successfully.
Soil and location
Nutrient-poor and well-drained soils are ideal for creating a wildflower meadow. The leaner the soil, the easier it is to create and maintain a meadow of native plants. Nutrient-rich locations offer good growth conditions for competitive grasses in the fatty meadows. Such a location leads after a few years to the grasses displace the wildflowers. If the substrate is high in nutrients, remove the top soil layer and mix in sand or fine gravel. The location is a place in the sun that is as free of stress as possible.

An open soil is the prerequisite, so that the needy wildflower seeds germinate. An Ansaat directly into an existing lawn is not promising. Completely dug the lawn to create an open area. If the grass is heavily compacted, loosen it up profoundly. Wait about three weeks after digging and repeat the process. This will dry up the fresh seedlings that have developed from the seeds in the soil. Unwanted species are reduced. Pour the area liberally before sowing.
Collect seeds of wildflowers that grow on the roadside. Seed mixtures for wildflower meadows are inexpensive. Since they contain predominantly annual species, the flowering is over after a short time.

Sow the seeds in the spring between April and June. During this season optimal temperatures prevail, so that the seeds germinate quickly. Later sowing may cause fast-growing grasses to spread across the area and deprive the wildflower seeds of light.
Usually only a few grams of seeds are enough per square meter. Mix the seeds well with sawdust or dry sand. This allows a uniform sowing. The wildflowers of the meadow societies are light germs. After you have spread the seeds on the surface, you should press it well with a board or a lawn roller. After sowing, the surface must not dry out.
