In early spring or after feeding in late summer, the plant can be well divided. The ideal times are either before budding or immediately after flowering in July / August. The division is as follows:
Propagation by cuttings
A large number of seedlings can be obtained by propagating with cuttings. The best time for this is in the summer directly after the flowering season. In addition, an increase by root cuttings is possible.
Sow the bleeding heart
If you do not remove faded shoots, but leave them on the plant, it will produce fruits and thus seeds under good site conditions. The bleeding heart belongs to the perennials, which sow themselves quite reliably. When sowing by hand, please note that it is a cold germ.
Tips
If you want to cut cuttings or divide the plant, it is best to wear gloves - the bleeding heart is poisonous and can cause contact allergy to sensitive people.
