Sun-ripened tomatoes from their own cultivation are no longer a dream, but within reach. The following instructions show step by step how hobby gardeners plant tomatoes properly in the bed and on the balcony.
Nothing works before mid-May
The own preferred or ready bought young plants tolerate the local climate only from mid-May. After the extraction of the sacred ice, no more ground frosts are to be feared, so that at least the temperatures can no longer harm the cold-sensitive tomato plants. Except for hanging tomatoes, the installation of a trellis aid is generally recommended. In this way, you protect your plants on the balcony at any time from the wind.
Tips & Tricks
If buckets or climbing aids are used repeatedly in the bed and on the balcony, they should be thoroughly disinfected. Expensive disinfectants are not required for this purpose. With hot soda water or alcohol, you can safely remove pathogens and insect eggs.
