Hide the compost behind decorative privacy screen
A compost heap for the utilization of Schhnittmaterial and organic waste is the pride of many gardeners. If the compost can not be accommodated in a hidden garden corner, a suitable privacy screen can be the solution, just as with unsightly garbage cans.
Do not confine a compost heap
For a decorative screen in the garden, many original ideas can be realized. However, you should not necessarily build a stone wall next to a composter as a privacy. After all, at any point in the compost pile comes the time when it has to be dug up or at least a larger amount of mature compost must be taken. When the time comes, you will be very happy for the freedom of movement around the compost. As a result, compost offers the following types of privacy shields:
Narrow plants as privacy shield next to the compost
Often it is sufficient to plant a natural screen on one side of the composter due to the given visual axes in a garden. This is even more so, as a compost heap is usually housed in a garden corner. However, in order to maintain the freedom of movement for the work-over of the compost, at least a distance of half a meter should be maintained with the privacy screen. Even in a small garden, this can be done when very narrow awake plants are used for the privacy screen. For this purpose, for example, columnar wizened yews or the column cypress Thuja emerald come into question. But you can also plant a climbing aid with an evergreen climber such as ivy.
Annual flowers and flexible privacy options
In order to maintain the necessary freedom of movement when working on the compost, one-year-old flowers can be used to protect the eyes, which are simply replanted every year. The necessary height can be reached within a short time, for example gladioli, sunflowers and climbing plants like the black-eyed Susanne. There are also special blinds made of printed, weather-resistant plastic film for the optical embellishment of a composter. With a decorative print in the look of a stone wall, the weathered boards of a compost heap disappear behind the deceptively real illusion of the bricks.
Tips
An unattractive composter can also be hid easily by stringing potted plants together in the appropriate places. If required, these can be flexibly changed at any time so that the compost pile is easily accessible even with a wheelbarrow.
