The classic privacy options such as stone walls, sight protection hedges and wooden walls do not optimally meet every garden use concept or claim. If there is a desire for a so-called mobile and flexibly adjustable privacy option, then container plants should be considered as a mobile privacy screen.
The classic privacy screen for the terrace
On many terraces, potted plants not only provide a Mediterranean flair and green accents, but instead of a rigid stone wall as a patio surround, they also ensure the privacy on the terrace, which is so important for the recreational value. Bamboo and hedge plants in pots
Many gardeners do want bamboo in the garden, but they even shy away from planting a Japanese garden before planting back into the garden floor. Too great is the fear that the once planted bamboo could spread in the future as a stubborn test of patience uncontrolled. This problem, which can not be solved by hand, is elegantly circumvented by simply cultivating suitable bamboo species in sufficiently large planters. So you do not have to do without the attractive sight protection plant and the bamboo always remains absolutely under control. Also typical hedge plants such as cypress, beech or cherry laurel can be used in sufficiently large pots as a live privacy fence, if the conditions on site (such as a floor sealed with stone slabs) make it necessary.
Annual plants as a mobile screen in the bucket
Not only Mediterranean citrus plants in the pot can be used as a flexibly deployable privacy in the garden, many annuals also make a good figure in pots and plant troughs. For example, sunflowers placed in a row can give a creative and quite funny picture. Simple bamboo sticks in a small flower pot are enough to give the climbing nasturtium space to develop. Gladioli usually thrive in a planter and can thus for example serve to increase a visual protection wall seasonally or to provide abundance of flowers on the terrace.
Tips
Mobile convertible potted plants can also provide good services as a visual screen, where such by definition in club rules is generally undesirable or even prohibited: in allotment enclosures foreclosure is sometimes not welcome, plants in the pot remain in such a case as a discreet alternative for a minimum of privacy left over.
