Do not overwinter rosemary without protection
Rosemary is a true plant of the Mediterranean coast: sun-hungry and absolutely in need of warmth. Most rosemary species are very sensitive to frost, there are only a few hardy rosemary. Therefore, Rosemary should stay out only in mild winters and otherwise overwinter at best in the pot during cold weather conditions.

Pot rosemary overwinters best under cold conditions at temperatures between 4 to 12 ° C in a bright location in the house. Ideal for a bright staircase, a place in a garden or greenhouse, in the basement or in a (little) heated bedroom. You should occasionally water the plant, but do not fertilize it. Outdoor overwintering rosemary should not be pruned. Therefore, it is advisable to harvest abundant fresh rosemary in the summer and preserve it.
