The papaya is not only a tasty fruit, it is also one of the exotic fruits that can be relatively easy to plant themselves. For this purpose, the seeds can be used from the commercially available fruits.

In order to obtain the desired papaya strain when growing from seeds, you should pay attention to the origin of the respective fruit. Papayas grown in the tub must be brought into the house before the fall of temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius in the fall. Otherwise, papaya flowers and fruits may drop due to cold. Since papayas need plenty of light even in the colder months, a slightly cooler place in the conservatory or under a skylight is an optimal location.

Depending on the seeds used for breeding, you can get single or dioecious papaya plants. In the former, self-pollination is possible, in the latter, a male pollination sample is required per 10 to 15 female plants. This can be distinguished on the basis of the earlier formed and long-stemmed flowers of the female specimens.
