Which pot size does my oleander need?
The oleander is one of the most popular potted plants for balconies and terraces. The lush, vigorous flowering shrub should at least be repotted every year as a young plant, but older specimens only need a new planter every five to ten years.
For oleanders choose wide rather than deep tubs
This is the ideal Oleandertopf rather broad than high, so that the roots find plenty of room to grow and also enough water can be stored in the contained substrate. Narrow, tall vessels such as those used for roses, on the other hand, are not suitable for oleanders. The pot is the right size if it is twice as wide and as deep as the root ball fails. For newly purchased oleanders, however, choose a planter that is two sizes larger than the one in which you purchased the shrub.
Tips
It will be time again for repotting, if the oleander does not really want to bloom and even grows little or even makes a puny impression.
