The most beautiful and fastest grows the Muschelzypresse in a sunny location, which is somewhat protected. But even in partially shaded places this cypress species copes. Mushroom cypresses do not thrive in the shade.
The soil should be slightly acidic, can store moisture well, but be loose and permeable to water. For compacted soils, drain before planting.
Mushroom cypresses in the bucket get a sunny spot on the terrace. They have to be watered more often. The substrate is normal garden soil.
Tips
Muscular cypresses tolerate neither dryness nor waterlogging. In order to keep the soil moisture constant, a mulch cover made of bark mulch around the tree has proven itself.
