The real meadowsweet is easy to maintain, but not modest. If it is in the right place, the numerous tiny yellowish white flowers fill the air with their sweetish scent every summer from June to August.
On wet meadows, at ditches or on stream banks, the meadowsweet feels particularly well. It may be half shady to sunny places with a slightly moist loamy soil, on which nevertheless no waterlogging forms. Place the plant on the balcony, then avoid full sun and use a sufficiently large pot.

You can use real meadowsweet as seasoning for dessert, game or fish dishes. With the sweetish flowers refine fruit salad or compote. Warning: Do not use during pregnancy or in case of hypersensitivity to salicylic acid.
