The crawling Günsel is considered very assertive, displaced the plant but quickly all weeds and makes the garden therefore look neater. However, that does not mean that you get around for regular weeding. Instead of various weeds, you must now stop the rapidly spreading Günsel. The plant proliferates mainly by above-ground root sprouts, which root themselves on every free patch of soil.
Remove Günsel in time
So that your garden is not one day overgrown by the Günsel, you should the spur in time - that is, if possible, before the rooting - remove regularly. There are various methods available for this.
Border the bed
One of the most effective ways to prevent this is by using a suitable bedding border, which, however, must be above ground. So-called root barriers are unfortunately meaningless in the Günsel, since the foothills are not formed underground but above ground.

If you want to remove rooted Günsel, you always have the roots - especially the main root! - dig out with, otherwise the plants expel within a short time from the remaining root remnants. A mere tearing while a large part of the roots remains in the ground is not enough. The best thing to do is to dig out the whole plant with its roots using a digging fork.
Tips
You do not have to throw away pruned Günsel, because the plant can be used as a medicinal plant especially against indigestion. In addition, the herb is edible.
