Prefer lettuce at home

The best conditions for germination
Lettuce germinates best at temperatures between 16 and 18 degrees. Temperatures above 20 or below 10 degrees inhibit germination. Furthermore, draft should be avoided and a uniform irrigation ensured. Lettuce germinates under foil or glass particularly well, but also a light location at the window is sufficient.
A guide to preferring lettuce
For the cultivation of lettuce, you only need potting soil or compost-enriched soil, seedlings, some water and the seeds. Then proceed as follows:
If you have the opportunity to cover the trays with foil or glass, you do. However, you should not simply cover the trays with foil, because that would prevent the plantlets from growing! Instead, use a bought or improvised mini-greenhouse. This ensures sufficient moisture and ideal germination conditions.
How much seed per peel?
If it is seed from the specialized trade, it is sufficient if you put two seeds per shell, because the probability that all seeds are absorbed, is very high. However, if you are sowing collected seeds yourself, it is advisable to seed several seeds (up to five or six) per dish to make sure that at least one or two seeds germinate.
