Ginger as a seasonal plant in the field
The tuber of the ginger can be bought today in the trade around the year. The season for cultivation in the garden extends in this country from about March to October, because it is a frost-sensitive plant.
Harvest fresh ginger straight from the tub
In order for the ginger derived from tropical climes to get enough heat and preferably no waterlogging, it should ideally be cultivated in a pot with a loose soil substrate. Under a plastic wrap and a few centimeters of earth cover the tuber drives out after about two weeks. Once the leaves turn yellow in the fall, the tubers can be pulled out of the ground for use. Pick up a piece of it in a dark, dry and cool room. You can then use this again in the spring to grow ginger.
