Evergreen magnolia on high stem - a fabulous solitaire
The evergreen foliage provides fresh green in the barren landscape in winter. In summer, the silky-white and lemon-scented flowers adorn the crown. The evergreen magnolia is stunning on the top of every season.
A solitaire that will never be forgotten
The evergreen magnolia is extremely dominant in its overall expression. At least, if she's been around for a couple of years already ... That makes her an ideal solitaire. She convinces all year round with her decorative appearance.
Whether in parks, on open lawns, in large gardens, as a house tree, for avenues, in public squares or elsewhere, everywhere it stands out among other plants. If you are looking for something extravagant, this plant is just right for you!
Grew this deciduous shrub
The Magnolia grandiflora, as this woodland is also called, is pulled as a high trunk in this country usually up to 6 m tall. In width, it assumes a similar extent with its crown. The crown has a pyramidal shape and is well branched. By nature, it looks perfect in its appearance and tight.
Space requirement and location
For such a plant you should plan a lot of space. On all sides a minimum distance of 4 m is recommended. If the evergreen magnolia is pulled on high trunk, there is ample space under its crown for other plants such as winter bloomers, spring bloomers, ground cover and smaller shrubs. Basically, the site should be sheltered from the wind and allow plenty of sunlight to penetrate.
Attention when cutting!
If you want to cut this magnolia, note the following:
Protect trunk in winter
Young evergreen magnolias on high trunk should be protected the first years of winter. Many varieties are badly hardy. Protect the trunk with fleece, the branches and twigs with jute and the root area with bark mulch, leaves, straw and brushwood.
Tips & Tricks
Do not worry if your Magnolia grandiflora does not bloom. These are not necessarily mistakes in care, but it takes many years (with bad luck a decade), until blossoms appear for the first time.
