Everyone knows the hydrangea as a flowering potted plant for the windowsill or as a medium-sized perennial in the flowerbed. If the hydrangea feels well and can grow at the same location with optimal care for many years, it can develop into magnificent bushes.
Bushy, upright or slimmer
The numerous hydrangea species differ among other things by their growth form. The bushy upright growers hydrangeas grow about one to one and a half feet tall. Garden hydrangeas reach heights of up to three meters. The climbing hydrangea climbs house walls and trees with its clinging roots and can grow several meters high.
Tips
It is often said that hydrangeas should never be cut. This is not true. A hydrangea that has become too large can easily be shortened and thus keep its growth in check.
