Hops likes a sunny to half shady spot. A slightly sheltered place is ideal. So that the shoots can grow in height, a climbing aid is absolutely necessary. Existing railings can be used well.
The soil should be nutritious. Nevertheless, regular fertilizer inputs are required.
Hops tolerate neither waterlogging nor dryness. The soil is well loosened before planting and enriched with mature compost. Compacted floors can be made permeable to sand. Care must be taken in the pot to ensure good drainage.
Tips
Hops do not like strong temperature fluctuations. If pulled in a bucket, a southwest or southeast location is ideal.
