Hemp palms, which are kept in the field, bloom under good conditions quite often. Even if the flowers are very decorative, you should cut them off - at least, if you value many new leaves.

If the hemp palm develops flowers, it has to spend a lot of energy. The development of seeds weakens them even more. This leaves the growth behind and the fan palm gets less new leaves.
