The right seed
Kale is not the same as kale. In the trade you will find about 10 different types of kale, which differ not only in their appearance but also in their demands and their harvest time. Where is kale sown?
Site requirements also vary slightly depending on the variety, but generally kale prefers sunny locations with humus rich, nutrient-rich soil. Acid soil does not like kale, so if you have acidic soil before sowing, you should raise some lime under the soil. Furthermore, a portion of compost gives the kale enough nutrients to thrive well.
When will kale be sown?
Kale can be sown directly in the field from the end of May, when no frost is expected. Alternatively, you may prefer the seeds from the beginning of May, but that is not really necessary.
