The best time to cut the cuttings is early spring. The temperatures should be quite high with 20 degrees.
Simply place the cuttings in a jar of lukewarm, lime-free water and wait for roots to form. You can also put the cuttings in pots with substrate right away. Then you should first coat the cut ends with rooting powder.
Continue to cultivate cuttings
Once sufficient roots have formed, you may transplant the cuttings into individual pots. Make sure that the soil is nice and loose and permeable to water. Cactus soil or potting soil mixed with sand or gravel is sufficient.

Sowing lucky chestnuts
You can only get seeds for lucky chestnuts in the well-stocked garden shop. Before sowing, allow the seeds to swell for several hours in lukewarm water.
Sow the seeds in prepared pots. The substrate is a mixture of sand and potting soil. Put about one centimeter thick layer of soil over the seeds.
Set the pots as warm as possible at about 23 degrees. Keep the soil moderately moist and avoid waterlogging. The location for the branches must be as bright as possible, but not too sunny.
Tips
When the trunks of Lucky Chestnuts have softened, it is mostly due to the substrate becoming too moist. The plant can then no longer be saved. But you can still cut green shoots as cuttings and pull new offshoots.
