The best time to divide the leaves is spring, when the plant is transferred to a larger pot with fresh substrate anyway. This approach has proved successful:

It is best to use a loose, nutrient-rich substrate with a pH between 5.7 and 6.8. It is also often read that the ideal earth is based on peat. That may be true, but for environmental reasons to avoid. In order to prick peat, peatlands are still being drained today, irreparably destroying valuable habitats for rare animal and plant species. By the way: Older adult adults do not need a bigger pot, but the substrate should be replaced every year.

Tips

If you are fortunate to get Spathiphyllum seeds (very rare in the trade!), Then the multiplication also succeeds over these. However, the seeds are not sown immediately, but first germinated at about 25 ° C and high humidity. Only after germination do you plant the small seedlings separately.
