Is mugwort poisonous?
Maybe you have ever seen it on the roadside or you have it as a spice herb in the kitchen - the mugwort. But is this herb completely non-toxic or are there any pitfalls?

Mugwort is non-toxic and edible in both fresh and dried form. This does not change the onset of his flowering. It is often used in phytotherapy because of its contained bitter substances and essential oils. Among others he acts:
Beware Thujon
But mugwort is not entirely nontoxic if you take it exactly. It contains an essential oil called Thujon. This is harmful in high dosages and in the long term.
Tips & Tricks
To poison yourself with mugwort is relatively unlikely. The herb has a strong spiciness and is usually used sparingly in the kitchen for greasy meats, for example.
