Beeteinfassung should, as the name implies, bordering beds and set boundaries, but also underline the style of the garden. It can be designed in different ways, straight or curved, made of solid materials or plants.
For a harmonious design, you should always keep an eye on the style of your garden when choosing bed frames. Concrete enclosures are less suitable for a farmer's garden, wicker fences or wooden borders emphasize the character of a natural garden much better. Noble material such as granite, on the other hand, fits very well into a correspondingly designed rose garden.
Traditional bed surrounds
Boxwood is certainly not an insider tip for a bed enclosure. But since it can be cut well into almost every imaginable shape, you can use it to create an unusual border. However, this requires creativity and a skilled handling of pruning shears.
Even with a wooden bed frame, you can let your imagination play and make it unique. For example, you can use old railway sleepers or thick branches from your garden.
Saw these into pieces of different lengths. Then beat the pieces so deeply into the ground that they remain stable. The upper edge may be quite irregular, which gives your bed enclosure special charm.
Braided bed frames
You can buy wicker fences in different designs at the hardware store or garden shop. If you have a hazel or a willow in your garden, then you can weave such a border yourself. So you can adjust the height perfectly to your needs and make the desired bows fit.
You can use the annual clippings of your pasture or hazel bush for such weaving. If you need more branches for your surround, then that's no problem either. These bushes can sometimes take a radical pruning and then drive out again. For the pegs that you want to weave, the thicker branches are suitable. Put them deep enough in the ground, finally they are to give the fence stability. For braiding use young flexible shoots of varying length and thickness.
Edible flower beds
If you would like to design your bed enclosure with culinary plants, then you can use herbs, for example. The selection is huge. With lemon balm, rosemary, sage or thyme is quite easy to make a fragrant hedge, but also chives is suitable as bedding border. The use of carrots with their filigree cabbage is quite unusual, but very decorative.
