Avocado - Unpretentious and frugal
Growing an avocado is child's play, as opposed to wintering larger plants and growing fruit. Especially in terms of the composition of the earth, the avocado is very frugal and thrives almost everywhere.
Avocado loves sandy, loose soil
Most avocado growers have the experience that their sapling flourishes excellently in conventional potting soil. Also earth for palm plants or citrus plants show good results. However, the avocado loves looser, not too salty soils. For domestic use, a mixture of sand and potting soil in a 1: 1 ratio is perfect, especially for seedlings and young plants. Older plants, on the other hand, tend to benefit from heavier, loamy soils.
Tips & Tricks
Instead of germinating the seeds in a water bath, you can also put them in a small potty with loose, sandy soil. Cover this pot with foil and place in a warm but not sunny location.
