Sunflowers are not poisonous, but even edible
Sunflowers, the summer flowers par excellence, you can plant without hesitation anywhere in the garden or maintain in the house. The plant contains no toxins and is therefore harmless even if children and pets belong to the family.

Sunflowers are non-toxic in all parts. Neither
contain any substances that are not beneficial to your health.
The seeds of the sunflower can be harvested for your own consumption or you can leave the withered flowers over the winter as birdseed in the garden.

The kernels are raw popular as nibbling fun. From them, sunflower oil is obtained on a large scale, which is very protein-containing.
Tips & Tricks
Cores of low sunflowers in the pot should not be consumed. The plants are treated with hormones so they stay small. It can not therefore be ruled out that the cores also contain hormones.
